Front Door Change Up!

The best part about decorating super early is getting to change things up as you get the time and energy. We had Monday off this week from school, and I spent the day relaxing at home. One of my Monday projects was this wreath:

So I decided to revamp my door with my new wreath. Now it looks like this:

Yoo hoo, what's going on out there?

A little more simple and clean than before. But still rockin the vintage valentines!

Jackson came out and posed so pretty in front of the door so we had a little photo shoot!
He kinda seems sad. Maybe he wants a valentine.

Love is in the air!

Of course my Valentine spirit didn't stop after pink cookies!

I got out all the pink and red, love, and, hearty goodness!

I just love having those items that you only pull out once a year to enjoy... these skunks are at the top of the list for favorite pieces of all holiday decor. They make me smile!
 They are precious! Thanks mom!

getting in the spirit...

the Valentine spirit that is!

Today I came across this awesome valentine cookie recipe after a good friend had pinned it onto pinterest. I knew this recipe was going to help me get into the Valentine spirit so I got to work on these little guys just as soon as I saw the pin!

I got the recipe from HERE. It has very detailed instructions plus a video.  But I was so anxious to get going that I just printed the short version and got to work. I would recommend reading what they have to say. (I made my dough too smooth.)

And this right here is what you call a little bit of Valentine magic:

That's right... that chocolate chip wanted to be heart so it went right on ahead and turned into one!

So as cute as they are,  they are not very tasty. They taste a lot like butter.
But I'm not giving up! I will try again!
